§ 2-34. Delinquent payments by applicants.

  • No person shall be qualified to be appointed to a position on any board, commission, agency, or committee to which the city council has the final authority to make such appointment if at the time of appointment the person, or any legal entity over which the person has sufficient management control to make the final decision regarding the payment of the entity's debt obligations, is delinquent on the payment of any amount due and owing to the city including, but not limited to:

    (1)

    Any criminal or civil fines or penalties related to criminal or civil cases or administrative proceedings that are final and not appealable;

    (2)

    Ad valorem taxes on property located within the city, and/or any related penalties, interest, court costs, or attorneys fees related to such delinquent amounts;

    (3)

    City sales and uses;

    (4)

    City hotel occupancy tax; or

    (5)

    Payments for goods and services, including utility services, provided by the city.
