§ 70-2. Temporary closing of streets for neighborhood block parties and social functions.

  • (a)

    The city manager is hereby authorized to temporarily close a street for a social function or a neighborhood block party, provided that, in his opinion, the closing will not cause a fire, police, traffic or safety hazard or any undue inconvenience to the public.

    (b)

    The purpose of this section is to authorize the city manager to temporarily close a street when a request is made by the residents in a block to have or hold social functions in that block.

    (c)

    The social function and the temporary closing of the street shall be subject to and under such rules and regulations as the city manager may deem necessary in the preservation of the public safety, health and welfare.
